Made it to this rooftop bar last week. Met a Thai friend there, and we ate some sushi and had cocktails. Your video helped inspire me! This trip I have been to about 8 or 9 rooftops. Favorites: 1. Char 2. Hi-So 3. Vanilla Sky 4. Octave 5. Cielo. I would say Above Eleven is 6. I didn't include Mahanakhon since it's more of an entertainment venue. Hard to beat views there.

I've only checked out the modest (low-rise) rooftop bars before …. Thong Lo / Phrom Phong / Ekamai, with the highest previously having been the 9th Floor "Nest" on soi 11 (great late night vibe, with mock beach and matching recliner chair/beds etc ð ) – which i recommend to anyone – if indeed it's still functioning?
I think I had the wrong impression about these "touristy" high-rise bars, in terms of being a) crazily over-expensive and b) generic – just pick any city and away you go – but this looks and seems like a great spot for a drink or three. Will be trying it soon – entirely on your recommendation! Thanks Jeroen.

I went to Above Eleven a few years ago. When I first tried to visit I was wearing sandals and they wouldnt let me in. Went back next day with shoes and got in. Great views
